Our Rail Spike axes are made from rail grade spikes and high carbon steel, which has been flattened and sharpened into an axe head, hafted on to hand-finished English Ash.

Approximate specifications are as follows:

Material: high carbon steel

You must be over 18 to buy this product or view this website. With these being high carbon steel, please keep dry when not in use and regularly oil with a food safe oil to keep in great condition

The axe looked really cool, however there were several spots on the head and the blade that were not cleaned up as well as they could have been. There were also grease smudges on the axe head. The axe head and the leather sheath both still had a fine coating of oil on them which made it difficult to unpackage, as well as messy. I am big into customer service, quality and presentation. I would buy from them again though. the axe was a 6th year marriage anniversary gift for my husband, and he did not notice anything but the oil and grease smudges. He was excited and in disbelief so he was a happy camper :)
